Yesterday was an excellent day for gifts received as books.

The first, To Make Their Own Way in the World, is an absolutely lovely new volume full of scholarly essays about the Zealy daguerreotypes—the earlies photos of Africans and African-Americans enslaved in this country. I will definitely be processing this in the form of Patreon posts.
The second is a 3-part zine called “Gendered Machines” by the artist Whitney Humphreys. There was a small giveaway offered by the artist and the Internet Archive and I was one of the recipients!
