Today I went to the Museum of Fine Arts, St. Petersburg to see the exhibition Derrick Adams: Buoyant. I’m not going to write much about it now because I’m going to be writing a full review for Bay Art Files, but in short, wow. I’m a sucker for bold use of color in artwork, so I was obviously really happy about all this neon.
My phone doesn’t even get close to the color of that hot pink cocktail.
After that I drove to the beach to see if Hurricane Sally dredged up anything cool.
Jellyfish: cool. I’m not sure what this other amalgam is but there were a lot of them washed up. This one in particular caught my eye because of the cool snail wandering around the surface. Any idea what it is? They were more-or-less fist sized.
I also saw these birds that are unfamiliar to me. I couldn’t get close, so this is just with my phone’s zoom lens, but their beaks and eyes are red! They are about the same size as our ordinary seagulls. I gathered a lot of shell fragments. It was overcast today so the shell pieces I was drawn to were the ones with really vibrant colors.
